Breast Cancer Awareness Month

5-10-2016

One in eight women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in her lifetime. Receiving a cancer diagnosis can be a traumatic experience for those who were diagnosed and their loved ones. The last thing they want to worry about is the cost of care. According to CostOfCare.org, the cost of treating breast cancer in the United States was higher than any other cancer and the cost only continues to grow.
Early detection of breast cancer can significantly improve survival rate and might keep clients from having to go through and pay for costly treatment methods for late-stage breast cancer. This means if they are over 40, they should be getting screened once a year. However, as we've discussed before, many people avoid going to the doctor in order to dodge paying their deductible and to save money.
During this month, we encourage you to tell your clients about the Outlook Gap Plan and explain that it can help cover those office visit payments. Office visits that may just save their lives.
